Popular Youtube football channel Copa90 have produced a video about West Ham’s move to London Stadium and a perceived loss of identity. Perhaps the poignant part of the video is at the end when the interviewer asks at the end “What is the one thing you need to do to make it better? The fan simply answers: “Win f**** games, thats it, thats all we have to do, win games! That is the only way you can make it any better”
No matter what your view on the London Stadium I think we can all agree with that answer.
Yes agree but I have a few recommendations.
1. Stewarding needs to improve preferably to be mostly West Ham supporters.
2. Safe standing at both ends behind the goals.
3. Segregation of home and away fans.
4. Those advertising barriers that are have curved ends should be brought closer to the pitch and should be in a rectangular shape so the ball can be brought back into play quicker.
There is a need for a family section, a bit like the Brooking upper at UP, one thing I noticed last night it is so hard to get an atmosphere generated in the OS, in hindsight the trips to the shop in Stratford and the panic selling of season tickets to sell out the OS has come unstuck, instead of being pro-active the board are always reactive…This surely has to down to Brady !!
I for one believe a life ban for Mike Dean would improve the stadium no end.
I’m happy with the stadium. I’d like fans to change their negative attitudes and that would solve a lot of problems. Some people didn’t want to move and are negative about everything. The main thing that I’d like to change is to keep the away fans in for 30mins to give time for the home fans to clear the area. That is what happens to us at some away games. That would enable the metal barriers to be removed from the park that herd everyone in the same direction towards Stratford station. We were sold the idea of families shopping, eating and drinking at Westfields and strolling around the park only to find that everywhere is fenced off and guarded by idiots in orange coats.
