When Clattenburg out-ran Ogbonna – this is horrendous!

LEROY (1)There’s only one word to describe West Ham United at the moment – EMBARRASSING!

Last week’s defeat at West Bromwich Albion was shocking… awful… possibly the most heartless performance I’ve ever seen from a team in the claret and blue.

It horrified me and there is something very, very wrong with the set up at the moment and I believe that is probably related to the training ground where it looks to me as if the team are not doing anything like enough. They don’t look fit or up for it.

Take that appalling last schoolboy goal at the Hawthorns! I’ve watched the replay several times and can tell you that when it was cleared from the back the referee Mark Clattenburg out-ran Angelo Ogbonna and was 15 yards in front of him when the ball hit the net.

I think Ogbonna is a really good centre half but he’d given up and he wasn’t alone in that performance.

I’ve heard all sorts of stories about things at the club and what’s going on from people in the game but I take them all with a pinch of salt because these tales always arise when there are problems.

Things were bad enough against Watford and we all expected a response. There was… it got worse and that just won’t do… it can’t go on. It all stops with the manager and it has to be different this weekend. Let’s be brutally honest, we were even lucky to beat Accrington Stanley for God’s sake.

The players just aren’t doing it and nobody seems to be to bothered. In my day, players would have others up against the wall and Julian would have led the way.

But things seem to be passing everybody by and that can no longer be allowed. I will support this club to my dying day but I am not going to support these sort of performances and apparent couldn’t care less attitude from players at my club.

How we have got to this point after the events of last season I simply cannot fathom. It’s impossible to work out but it is horrible and it just won’t do.

On Sunday I want to see every player working at it until he drops. West Ham fans can take defeat but if everybody has given everything they can take it. What they won’t accept and nor will I is this lifeless sauntering around and  looking half fit and half interested.

Slav needs to get this right and very very fast. The owners are very tolerant and patient men with their managers but if these sort of performances go on he won’t have long.

  1. they certainly seem to have taken there collective foot of the gas Leroy.
I have always defended Mark Noble when others have unfairly slaughtered him, and Kouyate has been progressively better for all of 2 years. They were the base camp for all our defending and attacks, but this season so far Noble has been in 3rd gear and Kouyate has not turned up, apart from the first game in the Europa league.
Hopefully they both get their arrse into gear, or we find a better combination to replace them.
Luckily Fernandes has begun well and could put some pressure on them both.

  2. What we need to see is the same team more or less coming out every week so the players can ” instinctively” play around each other. So many chops and changes, players playing out of position , it has been impossible to create the balance and rhythm that we had last year.Og bonna needs to play and know that he will play in the next game and the game after unless injured!.I love Billic but this year he has not got it right so far!! Nordveit needs to play Center Mid.,,that’s where he was so impressive for Gladbach . I would play him there with Noble and Kouyate until we stabilize that midfield with Payet and Antonio.. Let Martinez have a pop up front!! He cannot do worse than Zaza or Callleri

    • Nordvelt instead of Lanzini????

I think signing and playing players like him and Calleri is a big part of the problem.

He played centre mid a couple of times and offered nothing defensively!

I accept that’s the view and opinion from where I sit, for what it’s worth.

  3. Thanks for cheering my Friday up Leroy haha 😀

    • Could be worse P45! Cometh the fishy 147 Moment could have posted one of his Antonio poems and funny quips about his fictious girlfriend and girly rants to cheer you up 🙂

When I watched in the 70s all the hard nuts in the Northbank would clap the opposing keeper as he arrived in position. They had respect. Now they boo Scott Parker etc and have loathe Big Sam. What an embarrassment you lot are. All things considered, Big Sam did a great job for us in turning the club round. If anything, you should vent your anger against the 2 Davids for appointing him. But, of course, you bigots are all far too thick to see that. You can all go **** yourselves, as far as I am concerned. So, are you going to give Mark Noble a sustained boo-ing too (whilst most pundits – who you also hate, of course….hmmm… predictable pattern there – are calling for him to play for England)? I am for welcoming Sam with a big Thank You. So there! **** you!

          • Hehe yes & Rick we never heard Fish Guts talk like this did we.Only about 1000 times.

Why doesn’t the club/Slav at least tell us WHY they want Antonio as RB? Nearly all the comments above are expressing their dismay; it’s a fair question, isn’t it?

Or you can have his other version

Nearly every comment is asking why no RB.
Why didn’t you ask him, Hugh? Were you told not to ask?
FACT: By NOT asking, you have basically let the majority down.
Antonio has very gently said that he is not happy at RB, and now this back handed insult to him from DS as regards last minute transfers, the club have essentially given him little option than putting in a transfer request. If not, if Antonio wants to progress in his natural position, just what other option has he got exactly.
The only time I have ever felt this sick in my stomach, was when the crowd booed Scott Parker.
It is the complete betrayal of Antonio’s exemplary attitude, and the nightmare wastage of one of the truly greatest talents this club have ever had, and potentially leaking several unnecessary goals.
            Sickening…..
If so, I won’t be blaming Antonio.
Come on, Hugh, WHAT IS THEIR THINKING on this? How long can DS / Bilic go on without explaining themselves?

Nice to know he fitted the scott parker booing in both

  4. I would start with Randolph in goal, our new Spanish RB, Ogbonna at LB, Collins and Reid CB.
    Defensive midfield Obiang
    Central MF Kouyate, Lanzinni
    Right wing Antonio
    Left wing Payet
    CF Fletcher

That reflects where I rate our new signings. These players got us 7th last year. They can get us back on track.

Subs Noble, Oxford, Fergoulie, Fernandes, Adrian, Calieri, Zazza.

  5. When Valencia went to Everton and was reported as saying the training there was harder and better you took it with a pinch of salt, thinking that maybe it was sour grapes but now Leroy coming out with talk about the players fitness – this is very worrying!

In this day and age with fitness monitoring and Sports Science and so on, a team to be unfit is inexcusable and is an indictment against the Manager and his Coaching Team – what is going on!

  6. Lol… things could be a lot worse… it’s Friday the 13th, you walk under a ladder while a black cat crosses your path and you see your figa kissing another guy in the distance… and it turns out he is a Millwall fan… 😀

    • I think life as a West Ham supporter is much more enjoyable if you dont use blogs or forums Matte.9 out of 10 articles are doom laden.I think it is better to take a figa to the beach & forget West Ham internet sites. They are depressing. One view from one person & the world falls aparf hehe

  7. Been nice having you around lads…might see you if u decide to return

    • Whos going anywhere Hugh.We were just on about the sh1t stirrer Fish n Chips with his multiple accounts over the last year.Always saying the same things.Always stiring things it up for the longer serving users on here.A clear agenda against the regulars.
I was only joking with Matte. We will be going nowhere im sure hehe

  8. In Slave we trust! Can’t leave Reid out for Nord though. That would mean even less pace at the back. Mind you, he and Nobes could play square keep ball for 90 mins then and we might get a nil-nil?
