Young Hammers may switch to Manchester United

manutdYou think you have read just about everything negative about West Ham this weekend then you read something by Paul Merson writing in the Daily Star. The former disgraced Arsenal player has suggested young West Ham fans will switch to Manchester United if problems continue at the London Stadium.

Fans are fighting amongst themselves and kids have been leaving the ground in tears. Their mums and dads won’t take them in future if it carries on like that.”  Merson wrote in his Daily Star column

“If they’re not careful, before you know it, those kids will be supporting Manchester United, and West Ham will not be drawing 60,000 crowds any more. I heard fans on the radio saying it’s been carnage there. One of them took his little boy and the lad was just saying: “They’re fighting over there dad… and over there…” That’s not right. Those kids are the future of West Ham. You can’t have them scared to be in the ground. It doesn’t sound like the stewards are up to it and the club are lucky.”

“They haven’t even played a big club yet. What’s going to happen when Chelsea or Tottenham visit? They need to get a grip of this quickly or it’s going to be a disaster.”

  1. It sounds like he is licking his lips over it ( or is it the Cocain dribbling out of his nose that he likes so much ).
Why would any supporter ever dream of defecting to Man U. What perverse bullsh1t is he going to suggest next.

  2. And the spuds ain’t a big club either. Deluded yes. Big? Nope.

  3. All these articles are becoming a bit farcical now.As 32 said last night, sometimes less is more 😉

    • Cheers Rick, yeah definitely a non article Merson knows nothing about our support, we are not gooners that only sing when they are winning and support the club because they are winning, we are West Ham and follow our club through thick and thin, mostly thin, I was a kid and did that other than 1980 and 86 it was all pretty thin, like most of us I still supported us throughout the ups and downs because we and I am West Ham.

  4. In a year’s time this article will be seen as a joke. Meddling Merson exposes himself….as a prat

  5. My way of thinking is that if you reach the age of 10 and haven’t “switched” then you aren’t going to.

  6. Hold the front page. In-fighting at The Hammers spreads from the terracing to the fanzines! Haven’t we got anything better to discuss, like “He’s one of our own” getting injured? Lol
