Your Shout: Bilic’s Position In Jeopardy?

24 hours on and the dust has settled on the Iheanacho debacle but our fans still have plenty to say and opinion is divided. Some back the managers decision whilst others are concerned that Slaven Bilic would turn down the opportunity to sign one of the Premier Leagues most prodigiously talented youngsters.

What it has certainly done is create the appearance of a divide between the scouting system and the coaching team and in this video a few of the supportersΒ are trying to make sense of it all.

As well as the Bilic/Sullivan issues there are also clips from supporters regarding the coaching set-up, Β The London Stadium athletics conversion and the West Ham ladies team.

To get involved simply record yourself on your mobile device and send your clip info @hammerschat.com and we’ll do the rest.

Thank you to Avit, Guy, Mike, Olas 1, Tone, Adam and Peter from Belfast for their contributions.

  1. A lot of good points made, but the most interesting thing is how well the glue is holding up on your sirup In this boiling weather, good job mate !!

  2. Yes is job as been in Jeopardy since and of 2016 that’s why no new deal. And the board and Bilic being so off doesn’t help. Kelechi was a miss. And Bilic doesn’t trust youngsters he does not like players under 23. And his #2 Dicks is useless, he is not a tactical manager and he is not a player developer. He lasted this long bc he was a player and 2015/2016 was good but had we had a real striker we would have finahes in top 6 that season.
You look at Mancini who wanted this job and he is bringing in big names for big money to Zenit!
It is just frustrating want a Marquee striker but don’t want to pay marquee wages. Sell a player for free after you pay sign on bonus after he helped I finish 3 places higher and loves the club to have to replace him and spend more money.
Club is in shambles. Should have sold to Red Bull bc then our academy would be on point and we would have a real vision. And we need a director of football but Bilic wants to go it alone wouldn’t take Rios help and he has been a 1 season wonder at Bestikas Croatia and for us. The players saved UA in the end of the season wasn’t Slavs genius tactics or January buys.
So yes in Jeopardy and I usually don’t say Gold got it right but with Kelechi he did. And since Bilics job is on the line he should of said ok yea let’s get him and I’ll lick the next…. Bc his picks have been **** poor. We are going the opposite direction of what we were told

    • Sadly 100% correct

Bilic and the Board must go . Can not see anything but good coming from a sale to Red Bull . … Red Bull Hammers … not so bad and owners with class and ambition .

  3. Message to Adam about trusting Slav. Yes Slav is a good man manager and the dressing room is behind him.
But are you seriously saying trust his decision in transfers. The reason we still have talent in the squad is all down to the recruitment of Tony Henry.
Please name one good signing which slaven is accountable for. The guy who recruited Zara and tore, and replaced dimitri payet with snodgrass and is looking to Andre gray. I’m sorry but why the board haven’t delegated transfers back to Tony Henry who transformed our side in 2 seasons I don’t know.
Iheanacho is better than rashford and the only reason he’s not as highly regarded is because he’s English and is up against two world class players. A player has a goal to minute ratio of 97 mins per goal, is fast and young and will improve. I seriously can’t get my head around what is happening, he is the best out there for players who would come to us realistically.

    • If it wasnt for bilic we wouldnt have had lanzini or payet. He tried to sign both while at besiktas.Yeah they were both **** wasnt they drop kick..

      • Payet was off the back off marco bielsa’s where he raved about him in the interview and the board asked Slav if they liked him. As for lanzini if so fair enough but I’m sure tony Henry and the recruitment would have been something to do with that.
We had a perfectly functioning recruitment set up which all went out the pan last summer and as much I back Slav with man management, he shouldn’t be getting involved in the transfers again.

    • But he wasn’t good enough at man management, otherwise we wouldn’t have lost Payet .
A bit obvious really . And his lack of management skills is starting to have a negative affect on our ability to grow as a Team . I keep finding myself repeating the same thing .
We are not attractive as a club ,,, why ? . There are various reasons & Bilic is just one of them .

  4. Why Bilic doest walk is beyond me…

    • He is going to be hung out to dry Headz, the sacrifical lamb if this window turns to rat shyte πŸ˜€

    • Because he has just had hip surgery in a few weeks he should be able to walk πŸ˜‰

    • And me , HammerHeadz . Because he will be asked to very soon I think . That may be annoying to some . Wheather he stays or goes West Ham will continue though . It’s not all about Bilic . There is a lot of History at West Ham United . A lot of youngsters don’t have the history in Thier heads and only have today to judge by .

  5. I don’t know where the idea came from that the Iheanacho deal was done and dusted until Slav gave it the thumbs down. Leicester were already odds on favourites for his signature. West Ham may have a big stadium but we are not yet a big club (not even compared to Leicester). We cannot offer the prospect of Champions League football and we cannot offer really big wages, so we can’t attract the players that bigger teams are targeting. We have to be realistic. For the time being we are attractive to the Snodgrasses and Andre Grays, not the Baccas and Chicaritos. We need to build up a brand with what we can get and look forward to a time when top players might find a move to the Olympic stadium attractive. COYI

    • I miss the Boylen. All gone down hill since. And is quite the Journey to even get to the “London Stadium . It will eventually be something altheletics since Vodafone seal gone.

  6. I know we are not a big club in conspiring with the top 6. But I saw us as above Leicester, Stoke and soton and competing with Everton. Yes Everton have a better team than us as of last season, but the season before we finished above them, we have a world class stadium, a large fanbase, a London club which is attractive to players and we have 18th largest turnover in the world which is bigger than the above.
I’m sorry but I think we’re a far bigger club than Leicester, the only reason iheanacho would’ve gone to Leicester is because he was either promised a better package at Leicester which is the owners fault or Slav genuinely didn’t want him which is just as worrying. Either way, it looks terrible on the owners for failing to complete a deal which even I had heard through sources was wrapped up or the fact that they have publicly pinned it on slav which is more embarrassing that it has taken a month to use basic communication in a multi billion pound industry.
Either way the club is looking in shambles just like last season when publicly targeting lacazette higuain and rodriguez and setting us up to be humiliated. Maybe that’s the reason we are not considered a big club because the PR side of things.

Is it that difficult, we only need a few quality signings with the deadwood cleared out.

  7. F@ck me…some seem to have misunderstood what the Under 5’s were all about. Rattles and dummies the new must have accessory in the London Stadium next season? What a bunch of petulant fickle mugs you lot sound.

  8. The Nigerian website says it was not stopped from the West Ham side, but it was Ianacho who decided to join his Nigerian freind at Leicester.

  9. JRS DICKS is NOT Bilics No.2 its the old boy that seats next to him. Dicks is just another coach and was probly employed to appease the anti bilic people on his appointment. Dicks has very little input during games.

    • My point he does nothing. That let him come to keep Bilic happy bc he has been with him trhu his other jobs. But offers absolutely nothing

  10. Ffs , its getting to the stage where you need to take anti-dep’s to tune in to C&H lately !!
Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks and if necessary get the pampers out and point those sammette fingers ?i I think gonzo is a very naughty boy πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

          • Must be Spanish tummy πŸ™‚ as for matte once a figa hunter always a figas hunter πŸ™‚ you know what its like with these hot blooded rabid Italians haha
Let’s hope he comes back soon and help cheer the place up a bit mate πŸ™‚

  11. Bilic is always two games from the sack which doesn’t help bringing players in. The board, probably like their approach to players, would like to shop in Harrods but have a Aldi budget-would imagine they Would fancy Benetiz or Mancini but either of those are too smart to put up with Sullivan and they would try and nickel and dime them on wages and budgets etc.
I would like someone who gave youth a chance- the problem for Bilic is he has no leeway- couple of poor games and he may be on his bike.

  12. Be hard for bilic on a bike at present what with the hip job, maybe a disabled quad for a quick getaway. πŸ™‚

  13. Looks as if Mssrs Sullivan & Gold are preparing to sell up anyway . If they are and they do then we can only hope that any new owner will buy the LS outright ( or change the deal ) and turn it into a Football Stadium . As for Slaven Bilics job being in jeopardy ; well yes , it is and has been for quite some time . Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he is gone within the next 3 or 4 months . With Gold & Bilic unwilling to play anyone under 25 only shows just how unattractive we are as a Premiership club and is a reflection of our true ambitions . ” The London Red Bull Stadium ” sounds just fine to me . We should definitely have gone for Mancini .

    • I must admit the same thought about the owners selling did come to me Kevin, probably way off the mark but you never know…

    • We had been thinking that. But they turned down a Β£650m bid from Red Bull and if it was about money they would have taken that bc we won’t get an offer that high again..Newcastle is thought to be lukcy to get Β£450 and Sunderland counldnt get Β£90m which a player cost that Much now.
Something seems off going back on their word Bilic too with Feghouli.
Maybe they have decided they just aren’t cit out for it bc they have plenty of money.

      • I reckon if they are going to sell they will wait it out until there is no penalty to selling the club (at the moment there is still that clause in the contract that means they have to pay a percentage to the government) or unless they get a huge bid that makes it cost effective I guess, I do think they could probably solve a lot of problems by hiring a manager that would attract the best talent because they are renowned as a brilliant coach but that is why I always thought Bielsa should have been signed but they lacked the guts when they had the chance and the rest is now history.

        • Yea had a shot at a few Managers who could have attracted players but they didn’t go for it. I like Bilic as a person and he has gotten a lot of leeway NC of being a player and the season we had before. But look Ranieri was the nicest bloke in the world and won the league!!! And hot sacked half thru next season who would have thought but Bilic kept is job. Strange things.
