Zabaleta reported on his way to Irons

zabManchester City icon Pablo Zabaleta is closing in on transfer to West Ham.

Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent Nicolò Schira has taken to Twitter to claim that the Hammers are set to seal a deal for the experienced right-back, 32.

Schira, has reputation for breaking transfer stories, reported on his personal Twitter account that Zabaleta will sign a contract with West Ham that runs for three years until 2020.

West Ham appear to have stolen a march on their rivals to land the Argentina international, whose City contract expires at the end of the season.

Zabaleta will go down in history as one of City’s greatest-ever signings after joining from Espanyol in 2008 for £7.4million.

  1. This is such a backwards signing. Yet another over the hill player to fill a vital position…

  2. Zabaleta would be a cracking signing.I was talking to a Citeh bud yesterday and he still thinks he has years in the tank.
He is still one of his favourite players its just that Citeh are in a position to upgrade on players who would walk in most other PL clubs teams.
