West Ham United may need to reconsider their plans to sell winger Mohammed Kudus in the January transfer window.
A top London Stadium source previously revealed to Claret and Hugh that the Ghanaian winger would be available for transfer if a buying club matched West Ham’s £100 million valuation.
However, the sudden injury to captain Jarrod Bowen has forced the club to reassess, as Kudus is the natural replacement on the right wing.
This unexpected setback is likely to disrupt West Ham’s transfer strategy, as the club was depending on player sales to raise funds before making new signings.
Kudus has been attracting interest from Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal, all of whom are reportedly keen on the talented former Ajax player.
The Ghanaian was the lone bright spot in West Ham’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool at the London Stadium, starting in Bowen’s position on the right wing.
With Bowen expected to be sidelined for 6–8 weeks—missing the entirety of the January window—the Hammers are unlikely to offload Kudus. The winger is seen as the only player capable of filling in at a standard close to Bowen’s, whose importance to the team this season cannot be overstated
With injuries and no doubt suspension’s for needless yellow cards by our serial abusers Alvarez and Paqueta our esteemed head coach will either have to play player’s out of position, oh wait he does that anyway or give opportunities to young, academy players to inject some much needed enthusiasm, energy and guile! Soler, Soucek, Irving and Orford would at least protect the ball and press, collectively when out of possession and look as if they care and make an effort when player’s race by!
Put Sullivan up for sale, any offers accepted…
If someone came in with 100 million we would still sell as we can buy a few players with that .
There were plans? Or rumour?
I love west ham supported all life season ticket holder what’s the point building a team for the shop window again that’s all we are one day may be able to compete and keep a team that’s our problem
Lets see how we do now with our main goalscorer out, might create an aopportunity for Fullkrug to show us what he has got. WIll be nice to see Kudus starting in his best position too, lets hope he play Summerville not Soler or Paqueta on the left.
i am sure Loppy can switch emerson to the right wing and play Kudus on the left i mean it makes sense doesn’t it
Lol, you might be right Pat, wonder what Sullivan’s fascination is with managers that play players out of their natural positions.
Don’t bother playing Pacqueta anywhere he’s becoming an embarrassment
