Report: Romano links Hammers with Turkey international

West Ham have been linked with a potential swoop to sign midfielder Orkun Kokcu from Feyenoord.

The Hammers have confirmed the deal to sign Nayef Aguerd from Rennes this summer, and are also hoping to sign Alphonse Areola from PSG on a permanent deal.

The Irons are interested in signing at least one midfielder this summer and Fabrizio Romano has now claimed on Instagram that the Irons are considering a swoop for the Turkey international.

Kokcu is 21 and has been with Feyenoord since 2018, while he is also a seasoned Turkey international with 16 caps.

He made a huge 51 appearances last season, scoring nine goals and registering nine assists, and is the kind of player who can provide real creativity from the centre of the pitch.

He has a contract until 2025, though, and is valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt.

Keep an eye on this one; the Hammers need a midfielder and Romano is an incredibly reliable source.

  1. I had a look at him on youtube, looks like he has a bit of skill, the worry would be that he could be another Vlasic where he looks good in a weaker league but takes a while to make the step up.
