GiveMeSport has reported that Fabrizio Romano has news on how the Hammers are trying to prise Summerville away from Elland Road.

“The interest is still there in Summerville. It’s an expensive package, so I’m not sure West Ham will be able to make it happen, but the interest is genuine,” Romano said.

“They had contacts on the player’s side and contacts on the club side after speaking to Leeds last week. He is one of the players they have on their shortlist.”

The Hammers have  recognised the 22-year-old’s talent and potential impact on the squad. However, Leeds’ valuation of £30 million could prove to be a major obstacle for West Ham.

Despite the high asking price, Summerville remains a top target for the Hammers, who are keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season. The club will need to weigh up the potential cost of the deal against the benefits of signing a player of Summerville’s calibre.

With the transfer window closing at the end of August, West Ham have limited time to finalise a deal, and will need to act swiftly to secure their target.

His had one good season, i think he is worth a chance at 25 million to make the step up to the Premier league, anyone who thinks he is worth more must be a demented Leeds fan.

  • Peter says:

Best out there under 50 million.

Should be all over this guy, right footed left winger, fast and reliable, chuck everything we have on the left in the bin and start building again with this guy!

So there is no news on Summerville then C&H? Thanks for that. Don’t suppose anyone has asked him if he is remotely interested in signing for us?

  • charlie white says:

    £25mil and Danny Ings!

  • Ian says:

Gold dust at 30 and we then have 2 excellent young left wingers. Get in what we need then sell as necessary to balance books best we can. 6 point penalty for not balancing is not the end of the world

    • Ian says:

People would be up in arms if we missed out on a European place (the target) due to a points deduction for financial breaches though.
I’d definitely like us to sign Summerville.
