An exciting all-London Premier League clash awaits at Craven Cottage this Saturday, where Fulham will host the mighty Irons. Both teams are looking to return to winning ways after failing to secure victories in their last matches before the international break.

After a narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester United in their season opener, Fulham quickly rebounded by collecting four points from their next two Premier League matches. They secured their first league win of the 2024-25 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City at home. This was followed by a 2-0 triumph against Birmingham City in the EFL Cup. However, Fulham had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their most recent Premier League match against Ipswich Town.

Fulham will be looking to build on that success as they aim for their third consecutive league victory over West Ham, a feat they have not achieved since the 1960s. Having completed a league double over the Hammers last season with an aggregate score of 7-0!!, Silva’s side will approach the game with confidence.

Under our new manager Julen Lopetegui, West Ham has experienced mixed fortunes at the start of the 2024-25 season. We kicked off with a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, but quickly bounced back with consecutive wins over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, the latter in the EFL Cup. However, we ended on a disappointing note before the international break, falling 3-1 to Manchester City at home.

Despite Ruben Dias’s own goal leveling the score after Erling Haaland’s early strike, West Ham struggled to contain the Norwegian forward, who netted two more goals to complete a hat-trick. It marked West Ham’s second successive home defeat in the league this season, but their away form has been much more promising. Three of their last four Premier League victories have come on the road, including an opening-day win against Palace.

Lopetegui’s men will be hopeful of maintaining their strong away form, with a chance to win their first two away league games of the season for the first time since 2015-16. Historically, West Ham has fared well against Fulham, winning 16 of their 28 Premier League encounters— their highest win rate against any team they’ve faced at least five times (57%)

I’m hopeful for this. Results so far don’t count for much when we’ve played Villa and Man City and they’ve played Leicester and Ipswich…

    I think we’ll win narrowly, 1-0 or 2-1
