Seems that televised live games suit West Ham down to the ground . Reckon we might need that habit in the our new home ( home ? ) because it will be nigh on impossible to recreate the Boleyn Ground atmosphere in a big Stadium like the OS .
But we have sold 50,000 + season tickets ,, so it should produce some noise on match days . It will be tougher at the OS , but big time players are , or should be , above that .
The main criteria for West Ham is to have players that can perform on the big stage .
If you look at the really big clubs ( Real Madrid , Barcelona , Man Utd , Arsenal , Bayen Munich , Paris San Germaine , juventus , the both Milan’s ) for example , there are others of course , but that was just an example , then that is where we must aspire . Maybe , just maybe a big Stadium like the OS will lend less pressure on the players to perform to Thier best without so much pressure from the stands ?? , just a thought .
We need , in other words , players that won’t / don’t get phased by a big Stadium .
The massively difficult task that Slaven has is to prepare the squad for is the huge change of atmosphere on match days next season . But with his experience I suspect that he his more than capable … We really do need to beat Stoke on Sunday to keep the momentum going . Fifth would be great , but sixth would be enough . Maybe even seventh if things turn out according to the odds this season . Our problem this weekend is Southampton but we must win our game .
