£25M? No Thanks, West Ham Will Take Him For NOTHING

West Ham are reportedly keen on signing Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Hammers made a verbal transfer offer for the former Tottenham academy graduate in the summer, reportedly in the region of £10-15 million. However, Southampton demanded over £25 million for the right-back, prompting West Ham to walk away and pursue Aaron Wan-Bissaka instead.

Many assumed the Irons’ interest in Walker-Peters had ended there. However, the 27-year-old now has less than eight months remaining on his contract, making him a potential free agent this summer. Hammers director of football Tim Steidten is believed to have kept in touch with developments at St Mary’s and is ready to make an offer at the end of the current campaign.

Walker-Peters has demonstrated his versatility this season, even featuring occasionally as a left winger for Russell Martin’s relegation battlers. Southampton are eager to extend his contract, but with relegation looming, it’s likely he’ll depart on a free transfer. West Ham are reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Keep Moyes? Left us with the smallest and oldest team in premier!!!! Always the manager getting slagged. Surely these high paid prima donas who are on the pitch need a kick up the ass! Why should they go out there and play well when they can mope about and still get their thousands, Wayne Kerr’s!

Problem is West Ham will be joining Southampton

Sure if KWB wants money and trophies he’ii go elsewhere but if he wants Hammers intrigue ( S..t show ) come to us .

Need to get rid of Paqueta, he’s become a liability, seems like every time we buy a Brazilian for a lot
of money we end up giving them away. There are good players in the prem and championship for a lot less money i.e Jarred Bowen.

Will end up at Chelsea or Spurs. With Chelsea it allows them to sell Reece James for ‘pure profit’ in FFP terms whilst bringing in a homegrown replacement on a free. Look at the business they did for Toisin Aderabayo in the summer whilst shifting Chalobah. For them it’s just gaming the profit and sustainability system.

As for Spurs he would count as club homegrown for Europe so would likely be attractive on a free.

Be shocked if were even in with a shout come the end of the season. He’ll end up as a top 6 squad player at a club with European football and higher wages than we’ll offer.

So true. That’s why Hammers should have stuck with Moyes. He was slowly and cautiously getting us up the table, consolidating a top eight position, so it’s expected, every season; making the club enticing for talent.

West Ham don’t have a bottomless pit of money, so they can only gradually, gradually attract the bigger names. Moyes was nurturing the great talents, like Mo Kudos. Now JLo has blown it.

My prediction is Oliver Glassner comes to us ( having been sacked) ; Moyes goes to Palace, whom he has said he admires ( in some capacity) and makes our rivals top half stalwarts.

Moyes saved us from relegation (twice), 6th, 7th, 16th (not saving us from relegation but almost getting it, add in trophy) and 9th. hardly a slow steady climb to consistency, really

My prediction is Palace swerve Moyes, we rehire Moyes and fans don’t renew season tickets.

Looks like a good business strategy. Much better than throwing money around like confetti.

Bit ironic we want KWP for free but want a fee for Rodriguez.

Sounds very much like Sully to me 🤣

  • Matt says:

I would’ve preferred to sign KWP over Bissaka tbh as he is much better as a RWB.

Sounds like Tim is keeping us firmly in the frame which is good to know. Coufal will be gone in the summer if not before. Having Tim is essential as his skill set is getting deals done!

AWB can play LB and RB so gives us better balance squad wise. Hoping Scarles proves a good option as LB if Emerson leaves
