£44m Gunners ‘deal’ boosts Hammers hopes

|

Reports have emerged in France tonight that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger  has agreed to meet Lyon’s asking price of £44 million for last season’s West Ham target Alexandre Lacazette which if true ifs great news for the Hammers.

The reports claim that the transfer will be confirmed by both clubs next week, with just  one more meeting scheduled to take place which would finalise the switch.

A Lacazette switch would open the door for Olivier Giroud to make his move away from north London with Hammers enthusiastic to give him a new start at the London Stadium.

However, Wenger may have to beat off a bid from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez  before finally okaying the Giroud switch

Awful news, another club’s reject coming our way..

  • Radai Lama says:

Yeah i would have preferred Barcelonas reject Alexi Sanchez 😁
So we should never buy players from bigger clubs than us then Johnham because they are rejects.Ok that fine but earlier you said just pay 40m for Batshuayi.
Sorry im confused now but would he not be a Chelsea reject 😀

Johnham, going by your thinking isn’t every player any club sign from another club a reject? . are you saying that we should only play our youngster who have come through the ranks? We wouldn’t have a very strong team if that is the case

  • Tel Boy says:

No it means we can only buy from lesser clubs than us.No purchases from any team bigger than us as surely they will be deemed to be their rejects because they dont want them.
Johnham1 just says things for effect.Giroud is awful news.Nacho is an awful player. But as radai lama said johnham called for the club to splash out £40 million in a previous on Bats.Chelsea reject right???

I agree I don’t really think Giroud is the right player for us but given our resources and given the status of the club right now who would you realistically go for? I feel our scouting network is almost non existent though. Seems to consist of targeting obvious overpriced pension grabbers and blokes Slaven knew from Turkey. I like how Everton are going about their business but then again they know they’ve got 100 mil from Rom and Barkley coming in the door pretty soon!

Looks good if we can get him.
Plays target man but very good skill and technique, scores goal very regularly, and still only 30.
I don’t think Wenger would want him to go to us though, and wait to see what happens with Sanchez before celebrating.

Don’t be surprised if the Lacazette deals falls through, Their Chairman Aulas is a pain in the Aulas one of the most difficult chairmen to deal with, he agrees a price then raises it, if you meet that he raises it again, basically he makes it very difficult for his players to leave which is fair enough I suppose but if he was straightforward to deal with we would have bought Lacazette last year as would a few other clubs that tried and got the same treatment.
