£45m-rated ace open to Hammers move – report

Lille striker Jonathan David is open to moving to West Ham, according to a new report from Calciomercato.

The Italian outlet has an update on the Canada international, who has been in electric form in Ligue 1 this season.

It isn’t a long one, though, with the report spanning just a sentence.

However, it says that David “likes” West Ham, as well as Barcelona, as the transfer window looms.

He has been unbelievable at times for Lille and has scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 in 18 games, while also scoring three times in the Champions League.

It isn’t mentioned if the Hammers would be making a move for him in the winter window but he has a lengthy contract with the French club that runs until 2025, and he is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt.

Any deal to bring him into the club would be hugely expensive, especially when one considers that Barcelona are also mentioned as a potential suitor.

Still, one to keep an eye on, as we know how desperate David Moyes is to sign a striker in January.
