58 mins to glory for Adrian

AdrianHammers hero Adrian today needs to keep a clean sheet for 58 minutes to become a Premier League record holder.

Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny’s is the current top ‘shut out’ stopper with a run of 6hr 57min run without conceding which he set up earlier this season.

But the Hammers are hoping Adrian’s Wall will hold firm as the new Upton Park cult hero goes for glory.

Boss Sam Allardyce claims the Spaniard could become the best keeper he has ever had.

He said: “It looks as if he could be one of the best I have worked with but he has a way to go to beat the likes of Paul Robinson, Rob Green, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Shay Given.

“Adrian is a good age for us at 27 so he could be here for a long time.

“He can develop here and build upon the experience he is already getting.”

Allardyce stuck by Adrian even though he picked the ball out of his net 11 times in two games when Forest stuck five past the Hammers in the FA Cup and Manchester City hit them for six in the Capital One Cup.

Since then he has become a Hammers hero and today could be a real glory day for the former Real Betis man!
