£6m former Hammer struggles to make impact

Fletch1Ashley Fletcher – who made a £6 million switch to Middlesbrough from the Irons –  again failed to make the starting line up as Boro sauntered to a 3-0 away win over Bolton in today’s Championship match.

He didn’t appear until the 82nd minute and had no impact on proceedings whatsoever.

That  was his first bit of action  after being left on the bench throughout the 0-0 draw with Preston North End at the end of August.

The £6 million move looks to have been a particularly good piece of business for the Irons with manager Fletcher’s new manager Garry Monk still clearly treating the young striker with a fair degree of caution

Darren Randolph, however – who has now kept two successive clean sheets  for Boro – looks to have been a decent buy for the Championship outfit.

Young on loan Hammer Reece Burke came on after 45 minutes and Josh Cullen in the 65th  for struggling Bolton who sit in bottom spot with two points.
