8,000 support the Hammers on the road

Eight thousand West Ham away supporters have bought tickets to support the Hammer in their pre-season schedule this Summer.

Incredibly nearly 500 Hammers travelled to Switzerland to the Stadion Schützenwiese to face FC Winterthur which would have seen a  1,300 round trip journey by ferry and car.

Back in the UK, Wycombe Wanderers saw 1,003 West Ham fans make the Saturday visit to watch the Hammers win 1-0 with 130-mile motorway round trip required.

Further up north, Preston North End saw 940 Hammers fans make the 480 round-trip journey to watch the 2-2 draw.

The midweek 280 mile round trip journey to Walsall FC to play Aston Villa saw 1,500 tickets sold for West Ham fans to watch a 3-1 win.

This Saturday has seen a sell out of the full 4,100 away allocation at Portman Road as the Irons face Ipswich which will see fans making 150-mile round trip journey.

That’s over 8,000 tickets sold so far. With two more pre-season games against FSV Mainz 05 and Angers SCO after the weekend, we could see the away support reach ten thousand.
