Transfer rumours surrounding the future of West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus appear to be circulating this evening.
Only three days ago, C&H spoke with a high-ranking Hammers source who told us unequivocally that Kudus would be remaining at the West Ham this season. Of course, we’ll look to verify that position once again with the club, but it’s fair to say the rumours don’t match our understanding of the situation.
The latest speculation seems to hinge around the Ghanaian winger wishing to join Liverpool in order to reunite with his former Ajax and West Ham coach John Heitinga, who is now an assistant boss at Liverpool.
The reports also state that West Ham are negotiating with Liverpool for a transfer fee of £85m. This is at odds with what C&H understands to be the club’s position. Kudus did have a buyout clause for £85m, but it expired on July 2nd earlier this month.
If Kudus were for sale (and he’s not), any interested club would have to pay significantly more than the £105m Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.
Kudus is understood to be very happy at West Ham and made no attempt to move from the club during his release clause period. He is excited to be playing under Julen Lopetegui, who sees the player as a big part of his plans for the upcoming season.
This storyteller needs moving on, he really does!
Why would you leave west ham to join the “bindippers “
Because they are a much bigger club
