The Irons are now ready to make their move for Ajax winger Steven Bergwijn, according to CaughtOffside. The £16.7 million opening bid signifies manager Julen Lopetegui’s intent to reshape the Hammers’ attacking force.

Last season exposed West Ham‘s attacking frailties, with both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings failing to consistently find the net.

Thankfully the creativity and goalscoring prowess of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus were crucial in securing a ninth-place finish.

Wasting no time, Lopetegui has already bolstered the attack with the acquisition of Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme.

Bergwijn’s ability to play on either wing offers valuable support to Bowen, potentially alleviating West Ham’s goalscoring burden.
Despite a disappointing spell at Tottenham Hotspur, Bergwijn’s talent is undeniable, and he could thrive under Lopetegui’s leadership.

West Ham’s pursuit of Bergwijn has been consistent throughout the transfer window, with reports confirming our interest from reliable sources such as De Telegraaf.

Bergwijn’s versatility across the front three makes him a valuable asset. He could become the focal point of West Ham’s attack at the London Stadium.

While the initial bid might not meet Ajax’s asking price, West Ham’s determination to land Bergwijn suggests negotiations are on the horizon.

Why would we be interested in a player that’s already been in the Premiership and was found wanting. This site has turned into “clickbait cenral”

Simon you are beyond belief, Gonzo (one of your own writers) posted early this morning saying, and I quote “West Ham have little or no interest in the player.” Maybe try reading the articles on your own website first before writing something completely contradicting them. I’ve far more confidence in what Gonzo posts rather your copy and paste rubbish! Absolutely nowhere on caughtoffside.com or Der Telegraf does it mention a £16.7 million bid having been made. And in real terms, who would believe anything CaughtOffside post anyway. What it does say is “Sources with a close understanding of the player’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that West Ham are set to TRY offering around €20m for Bergwijn” but it doesn’t say an offer has been made so I guess that’s you converting €20m to pounds. How you get away with this kind of rubbish is beyond me, but at least u got the players name right this week lol!
