A Right Result: PSG Are Funding Hammers Loan Deal

PSG are thought to be subsidising Carlos Soler to the tune of £160,000 per week representing just 33% of his wage package at the French club.

The Hammers signed Soler at the end of August last year on a season-long loan transfer from PSG for around €4 million worth around £80,000 per week over the loan term.

West Ham also has an option to buy at £16.5m (€20m) but is unlikely to exercise it as the player is unlikely to drop his £240,000 wage demands.

According to El DesmarqueEl Desmarque, Soler is quoted as saying about London

“The first two days I got on the pavements, there is not much mystery. In Paris they drove worse, when I go as a pedestrian there, I have more problems,”

“I can walk around the street quietly and that’s cool because you can blend in with the people and live a normal life. It’s all very quiet, I also take the metro a lot.”

I like Soler, he’s definitely got skills.
I believe he has not been given a good run in a system/role, that will bring out the best in him.
I wonder if he was brought in to replace Paqueta?

£240k a week for an average player. When people say to me that players wages are ridiculous i can’t disagree.with that.

‘Right result’?! I can’t see that we are getting much for our £80k a week. A more accurate headline would be ‘It could have been worse’!!
