Despite stories to the contrary doing the rounds tonight, David Moyes has not sanctioned a loan move for Issa Diop.
Football Insider and a couple of other individuals are reporting that to be the case and, much as we hate to go against the ITK flow, we can assure our followers that the young Frenchman is going nowhere this winter.
We firmly understand that such a decision is not any part of the manager’s thinking and that Diop will remain very much a part of the Hammers first-team squad.
He has made it clear to the player personally that he will be remaining as he insists on having four central defenders which is the sole reason he moved for Craig Dawson on loan from Watford.
Sources close to the backroom team have confirmed to us that Diop will be going absolutely nowhere in this transfer window.
That’s no big deal in itself as Moyes has made it crystal clear on numerous occasions that Diop remains a very important member of his squad and that he will not be allowed out.
He does not include either Winston Reid or Frederik Alves as being part of things at this stage.
Winston’s age and injuries are against him whilst the young Dane is seen very much as one for the future so DIOP STAYS.
