Andy Carroll looks set to start in tomorrow’s clash against Everton.
The cub’s record signing is currently being seen as the most realistic line leader despite his less than impressive run out against Watford last weekend.
Training ground sources have revealed that the centre forward has been lining up with the probables against the possibles this weekend and is likely to start with Enner Valencia taking his place on the bench.
Slaven Bilic made it clear in his press conference yesterday that Valencia may not be 100 per cent up to speed although he will make no final selection until later today.
Defenders Winston Reid (knee) and Angelo Ogbonna (hamstring) are fit after spells out, and one – probably Reid – will replace the suspended James Collins at centre-back.
Midfielder Alex Song will not be involved, but he has been pencilled in for a friendly next week to build up his match-fitness following a summer ankle operation.
Provisional squad: Adrian, Randolph, Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Jenkinson, Noble, Kouyate, Payet, Antonio, Moses, Lanzini, Zarate, Valencia, Carroll, Jelavic.
I feel it’s a very important game tomorrow to see if West Ham have been punching above their weight or not – Carroll has got to be better than last week – that was a shocker all round!
Everton are a real test with Lukaku, Kone and other threats – looking forward to it!
Back on the train tomorrow after finally giving up on the M11, A406 and A13 and the new parking problems – Newham Council are the pits for imposing new parking restrictions this final season – it’ll be like a ghost town next year!
If Carroll plays tomorrow some geezer on Wetpants will be happy.I think he wants his babies 😀
Looks like a compounding of last week’s error by Slav. Still remain suspicious that Slav is being pressured by the bosses to play him.
Zarate would be better option.
On another note, it’s becoming more and more obvious that it is Leicester who are the surprise package of this season, not us and all the odds are, they’ll pull farther ahead of us on Sat. With the easier fixture
He should be told it’s his big chance to impress or get used to sitting on the bench,
Same for Moses if he does not perform bring in Antonio and give him his chance,
We need to get back on track and could not pick a worse game to do it,
Like to see Ogbonna against there 2 big forwards as Reid could be muscled out
Lets hope he is a lot better than last week, or pity help us, how embarrassing it is the way the club keep backing him 100% when he performs as he did, was hoping Sakho would have been back, Carroll is only a bench player, he does not even fit into the style we play now under Slaven. Hope his stupid salary does not control selection, only form.
