Agents hard at work as Irons face huge loss

Felipe Anderson’s increasingly disastrous loan spell in Portugal looks set to cost the Irons a small fortune in lost transfer fees.

Things have got absolutely no better for the on loan midfielder since his disastrous start to life at Porto.

The £35 million signing from Lazio during the Pellegrini era was seen to slide down hill dramatically at the London Stadium.

His his loan  looked to be an absolute godsend as the Hammers tried to find a way of increasing his value with a view to selling him in the summer ahead of the final year of his contract.

But after making just four appearances for his loan club the Irons are set to take a massive hit on the Brazilian.

The Irons have successfully filled his left sided position since David Moyes took over with both Arthur Masuaku and lately academy product Ben Johnson.

We understand that agents are busy trying to find a club for the player – albeit at a knockdown fee but thus far there is little or zero interest.

  1. Almost unbelievable the quality the player has that something in him is preventing him from showing it.

  2. I personally would Love to see him be given a second chance! … if we could get him back in and he buys into DM’s work ethic his value will shoot right back up. Some people are quick to forget that when he’s in form he’s a £40/50/60m player . I don’t understand why everybodys so quick to write him off when we still have a chance of recouping alot of the money spent on him if he can get his confidence back…

  3. Every one goes on about the huge losses they make when selling a player they signed some years ago. Every business puts a depreciation formula on all assets , I think it is required by the Tax man in valuing any business.
I had to when I had my business, so, if we buy a player for £35m and the depreciation is 15% per year then if we have him for two years then he is only worth, as an asset, £24.5m on the books of the Club therefore if he is sold for £25m the Club has actually made a half million profit on it’s books, NOT a £10.5m Loss as would be reported.

  4. Lack of effort is what is preventing him. Always seemed half hearted and never seemed fully committed to the cause even when he had his good spell when he scored a few goals for us. If you put high work rate together with his talent you would have a world beater. Various managers have tried to bring that out of him with little success it seems. It’s a shame and sad that a player who was once named naymars little brother has come to this. From a West Ham perspective he looks destined to be a waste of a talent on the same level as ravel Morrison, something in his mental make up that stops him from living up to his potential.

  5. He definitely does deserve another chance to succeed with us.
Clearly Moyes has an issue with purely technical players per se, but Anderson has a lot to give if utilised correctly and is more skilful than Lanzini and Fornals.
Benrahma has struck up a good connection with Lingard, so could Anderson,if given the chance. Obviously they cannot all play at the same time, but offer good alternative pairings.
At the moment,we have Fornals running round like a busy fool achieving very little, so perhaps in time DM might think that better end product rather than sweat alone is worth trying ?
