Aguerd back on the grass

|

David Moyes has confirmed that summer signing Nayef Aguerd is on his way back to full fitness.

The Morocco international had to undergo surgery in August after sustaining an ankle injury against Rangers in pre-season.

As a result, he has not made a first-team appearance for the club competitively this season.

He arrived from French club Stade Rennais and the Irons will now be hoping that he can make a recovery soon enough and get back onto the pitch.

Boss Moyes was asked about his injury ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wolves, which is a huge game between one club in the relegation zone and one club just outside of it.

And he has confirmed that Aguerd is now back on the grass, even if he’s a way off being ready to play football for the Hammers competitively.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Wolves clash, Moyes said, as per Football.London: “Aguerd is doing a little bit on the grass but still a bit off. Ben Johnson has done a week and a half of training.”
