Aguerd deal understood to be done

|

Claretandhugh understands the deal for new central defender Nayef Aguerd has now been done.

After a day of confusion yesterday when he failed to show at Rush Green, the Rennes player has today completed his medical and an announcement on him signing for the club is imminent.

Fears that Newcastle had bid late for the player turned out to be false when we were told the player was simply behind schedule when not arriving at the Hammers training ground.

He finally appeared today and has completed the second part of his medical

It seems unlikely an official announcement will be made today (Friday) but it now seems sure that the signing will be  made formal on Monday.

Although the fee and length of contract has not been revealed at this stage we be with the fee being €20 million rising to €35 million if various adds ons are fulfilled.

The 26 year old has made 19 appearances for Morocco
