Well it was never pretty but as the old cliche goes all that mattered was the result!
And at the end of it all we shoot up to 14th but still only one point above the relegation zone although it does look so much better at least.
The winner came from a fine header by central defender Nayef Aguerd from a very decent Kehrer free kick but how on earth did it take three minutes by the VAR to decide he was onside.
VAR, for me really has spoiled the game by taking the immediate joy out of such scenarios.
Aguerd was great all afternoon and was close to being man of the match alongside Decland and Jarrod Bowen who always looked the most likely to make things happen.
He was always lively and hit the crossbar as the Hammers pushed forward but James Ward-Prowse did the same close to the end to give the Irons their one big scare of the match.
So at the end of it all we have now beaten three teams in the relegation area over recent weeks and that is all too the good for our own surv-ival,
A satisfactory if not great win and we move on to Newcastle with hope springing eternal.
