Ajax Frontman Has Agreed to Join Hammers BUT . . .

West Ham remain firmly in the hunt for Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, despite reports suggesting the deal had broken down.

As Martin indicated earlier, Tottenham may have entered the race for the striker’s signature following an injury to forward Dominic Solanke. However, Claret & Hugh spoke to a non-club source earlier today, who informed us the deal to West Ham was almost completed last night and Spurs weren’t as advanced as the Hammers.

We were told, “The deal is 90% likely to happen. The hold-up is purely financial because the player has agreed to come. But with West Ham you never know.”

As we have maintained since the start of the window, Portuguese striker Andre Silva remains a back-up option on loan.

However, something appears to have changed in the last 48 hours, given Brobbey was not initially on the list of likely signings at the beginning of the transfer window.

One can only assume—and this is purely speculation—that new gaffer Graham Potter or Kyle Macaulay may have influenced the club’s approach for Brobbey

The usual misinformation and speculation regarding supposed signings.
As for Duran,Villa did not and have no intentions of selling,
Wait until you see them in a West Ham shirt at the Stadium. before believing

Hello Mr Blobby and goodbye Mr Steidten . Steidten is the sacrificial lamb sacked to preserve Sullivan’s reputation . Sullivan’s man LOSEpetegui was unfit for purpose and consequently sank all of our hopes and broken donkey Fulkrug was signed because Sullivan refused to pay the bargain price of 45 million for Duran . Sullivan is so slippery trying to dodge blame yet again .

1 goal in 17 games ! Sounds like a bit of a player this fella 🤣

Interesting because sky sports are saying we’re close to signing Silva from Leipsig but Brobbey is also of interest.

  • What? says:

Mr Brobbey has 1 goal in 17 games in 2024/5 in the Dutch league which is a far lesser league than the premier league. Sounds like the striker for us. Already outscored by Fullkrug who’s been injured the whole season.

Of course it wouldn’t work in the agents favour to strike a better deal if a rumour emerged that Tottenham were interested would it …

  • John Ayris says:

The hold up is purely financial…

Sullivan is probably refusing to pay the extra thrupence three farthings.

They wanted £30m plus £5m add ons offer is £29.5m what’s the haggling for when it’s such a minor difference in footballing terms?
Additionally £20m for Garcia looks like a good bet with such versatility and bringing much needed strength to defense.
Young pacy, 19 year old, Ezechiel Banzuzi, £13m, central mid/attack also looks ideal.
That brings it to total of £10m more than was offered, presumably, for 1 player_Duran.
Potter wanted Dewsbury-Hall but doesn’t look like Chelsea are up for selling him.
These 3 players will give Potter (and fans) what is needed, hopefully, to get season started and some way to reducing overall age.
