Alberto signing would make it Number 17

|

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

West Ham will have filled the 17 places available for foreign players should they decide to go ahead with signing Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto.

The board – in the shape of David Sullivan – has sent technical director Tim Steidten to Brazil where he will run a final rule over the player before deciding to recommend whether we loan the player for a season with an option to buy at the end of it.

The club will wait before making any decision and admit that at this stage “all balls are in the air” on Lucas Paqueta’s Brazil team mate.

However, should they decide to go ahead, a source admitted that the 17 slots for foreign players are gone but added that the club may loan or sell a fringe player to release a slot for somebody else.

He added that alternatively nothing at all might happen insisting that there were many variables and possibilities.

If he’s good then Tim will sort it I feel. WHU with three Brazilians in the side feels very good!! I’ve got the feeling we will lose Ben Johnson and even Formals sadly, and sign Lingard, as this will balance the quota.

…….I don’t think West Ham would send their man all that way if he wasn’t!

Alberto is West Ham’s next signing, I’m certain of that. Count Lingard as the one after him, though there’s no hurry there, as he’s out of contract.

He has a Russian first name and has played there so will we be sanctioned for signing him? Joking aside is he any good?
