ALL on board as Irons head for Austria

andy-carroll_3354672Every single West Ham player was on the plane to Austria this morning whether they were 100 per cent fit or not.

Pedro Obiang has told the official site that he returned to training early to ensure he would be on the plane for Europe.

But it seems the new head of medicine Gary Lewin has decided that every player, whether they are fit, injured or in rehab, should be in Austria.

Given that pre-season is as much about bonding as building fitness it seems a particularly good move.

In past seasons players have been left behind for injury reasons and of course there have been some notable absentees for other reasons!!!

That is not the case today and it will also be welcomed by the fans that, as we reported over the weekend, both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho appear to be in good nick as the new season draws ever closer.

Michail Antonio too was aboard as he continues his rehab from the end of last season and has already made it clear he believes he will be ready for the start of the new campaign.

  1. If both Sakho and Carroll are “in good nick,” as the article says and go on to perform well in the early stages of pre-season, I can’t see why the owners would splash out forward two new goal scorers.

  2. As much as I like Carroll & Sakho as I have said dozens of times , we still need another option or maybe even two . Hopefully any new signings will join them on tour . 🤞

  3. What are the odds the one or both of them will come back injured ?

  4. Gary Lewin could just be the best signing we have made this season. His reputation precedes him and is it a coincidence the amount of injuries Arsenal’s key players have suffered since he left?

I think the Carroll situation is clear but if Sakho can stay fit, then he is a 15 goal a season striker.

  5. Yeah hope you are right cas_blue. Mind you, the Gooners injury record is almost as bad as ours. Lewis is only a medic, not a miracle worker!

Mind those plane steps AC. Oh no too late…

    • Lol 64,i was laughing the other day reading some wise monkeys slagging off the appoint of Lewin because The Gooners recent injury record was so poor. The geezer left them in 2008 to join England full time.9 years on & he is still getting the blame for Arsenals recent injuries 😂

  6. Arnautovic handed in a transfer request at Stoke then.
Come on Hugh,Sean thats got to be worth a story 😂😂

    • Yes he did. I was about to post as well. Seeing as we supposedly put in a £10m bid for him that was rejected withing past week. Maybe he wants London move Bookies had. Is as Favs to sign besides staying, whoch means nothing but gives hope. And Stoke are training right beside Us. He will have more suitors with request in now. But I still think he hasn’t hit his full potential rather Bilic is the Manager to get him.there I don’t know but in would like to see him try.
Same height as AC suffers some injuries and is streaky but is a physical presence that plays left wing and can cover CF and Right. But he will won’t a big wage packet I’m sure. So we have to just go for it him and Chic would be great additions

      • I agree, they are just over the border and Marco could have his medical straight away and sign immediately, no brainer really, but will it happen, hope so.

  7. I cannot see why we can’t get COSTA from Chelsea and then let him go to Atletico in January.
We would be doing Atletico a great favour by keeping him match fit until they can sign him in January.
Maybe Atletico buy him then loan him to us, sorted.

    • I think we should try and gwy Christensen on a loan we need a CB especially with injury problems and playing a back 3
4 won’t cut it even if Rice is given a shot. Chelsea just bought another CB from Roma for £32m. So he will be riding the bench again. And they might want him to get premier league experience and his great on the ball and would be brilliant for us in the middle of the 3. At 21 with his talent would be a waste to have Jim in reserves look Moses came to us went back got First team

  8. Marko signed a new 4 year last July for around £80k. And Everton where keen to break is £12.5m release clause then let’s hope they don’t swoop Jim up from under Us too

  9. Should offer Snodgrass and £13m for Marko but wrap up Chic as well. I think the board is thinking they can use him as CF too which he can cover but he isn’t a prolific scorer.

  10. Radai- the bringer of good news as always. I feel better about Lewin already, but the guy has got a challenge on his hands with some of our sick notes.

But this transfer stuff is going to be the death of me. Death from boredom. I have watched some rugby union for the first time in 15 years to get away from it. Even a bit of tennis. If this goes on I might even end up watching cricket. It’s either that or DIY.

    • To be fair i never realised he left them so long ago,i thought he was at The Gooners & doubling up with England until only maybe 3 or 4 years ago.You know how the wise monkeys are though,go off full throttle without the facts 😁
Sit back & relax 64,what happens happens we cant change it can we.Dont go checking transfer news all day & your heart rhythm will soon be back too normal.Just stay away from all them internet porn sites 😂😂😂

  11. Good advice Dr Radai- not that I am basing that on experience you understand lol….As it happens I am fairly relaxed about the transfer stuff this year. Just a check a couple of time a day in case something has really happened. Some guys on here seem to be in a right old sweat about it. I reckon they should be spending MORE time on those sites you referred to – that’s gotta be a better use of their time.
