All eyes turn to Scott Hogan

scott-hoganWith the Payet deal concluded all eyes now turn to Scott Hogan with less than 48 hours left in the winter transfer window.

Reports suggest 21 year old Hammer Ashley Fletcher has been lined up for a loan to Leeds if West Ham sign the Brentford man before the deadline but that deal is far from certain as it stands.

Ray Parlour has told talkSPORT radio that colleague and Irons fan Ian ‘Moose’ Abrahams thinks Hogan could play against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

“The Moose spoke to him before the game (against Chelsea) on Saturday and he thinks something will happen,” Parlour said on talkSPORT.

Brentford are holding out for 15m but West Ham are said to only to willing to spend 10m plus a further 2m of add-ons. At the end of the day we are told the decision rests with Slaven Bilic who is keen to keep hold of Jonathan Calleri for the remainder of the season.

Even if Hogan does sign which is very doubtful indeed it would be doubtful if he figured in Slav’s plans for Wednesday. Sorry Moose but I think you have duff information.

  1. Can anyone shed any light on the problem with Fletcher ????? — Anyone ????

    • Let’s get the Hogan business signed and sealed..
No point in giving our West ham fans any further dead-line angst

    • G’dday Ironworker..
Greetings from Sydney, where we all know what is going on (due to the pharmacological effects of a 3-4 Foster’s/day!!)
      No apparent problem with Fletcher..
It seems, that in the short term, Bilic and c., believe that HOgan will offer more than young Fletch, who is still in his developmental phase, loads of talent, but still room to imrrove.
Apparently, Fletcher will be going to Leeds (on loan), if we sign Hogan.
This way, Fletcher will get some regular playing time at Elland Road, playing up with Winston Reid’s NZ mate, Chris Wood. In doing so, he will come back to us will a lot more self-confidence and maturity, close to the ‘finished’ product.

  2. Well i have been asking the lads on here for the last couple of months what other fans see in Fletcher im missing.I read he should start,be given a run of games but i see sod all in him to make him a viable starting option.Bloody hell maybe i just dont see what others can.
I dont know, all i see is a player who will end up as a Championship striker with a decent scoring rate.
I wish somebody would tell me what i dont see that they do😂😂

    • I agree to an extent, but he hasn’t been given enough time on the pitch to properly judge. But I’m with you haven’t seen anything that says you must play him,as many are saying.Perhaps cos he came from Man Utd.
I think a loan will do him good, and perhaps help with our judgement. COYI

  3. G’dday Max & all

Thanks for all your comments, personally I rate Fletch and I have no problem with him going out on loan as long as we don’t sell him, I would have liked to see him play a bit more but if we are getting a new striker and Sakho will be returning then it makes sense.
    Cheers!

I must admit after a crappy first half to the season I’m looking forward to the second half and the run in !! COYIs

  4. Fair call about him going out on loan if its to a Championship side.I watched him for Barnsley 3 or 4 times last season & he looked decent in Lg One.I have been to a couple of the U23 games as well.I just keep reading he should be played more often & i dont get what others are seeing.I mean they have only watched him in our first team the same amount of minutes as me so what the bloody hell do they see in him i cant lol 😂😂
