Sam Allardyce feels sorry for Joey Barton!
But the former Hammers boss admits West Ham have probably made the right decision in not bringing the midfielder to Upton Park.
Allardyce – talking to talkSPORT – said: ” I don’t think you need the added pressure if the fans aren’t happy with a player, even as good a player as Joey Barton.
“I had it when El Hadji Diouf with us and there was a big reaction against him. You get enough pressure as it is as a manager without adding to it yourself.
“So it’s probably the right decision in the end — as much as I am disappointed for Joey.”
ClaretandHugh quite likes the line about “not putting pressure on yourself” from Sam when talking about fans!
Well they spoke to Stuart Pearce on Talksh*te & he was full of praise for Barton.Who cares what hippohead thinks.Only the ‘Becareful what you wish for’ mob 😉
Why don’t they ask someone whose opinion counts about Barton lie Sir Trevor or Mr Bonds
Not has Beens who only inflame the fans,
Just shows you why Talksport have got it all wrong they only want conflict which shows by the class of people they employ or talk to
Enough Hugh, I dont think anyone wants his opinion
This is defo an article for Wetpants. They cant stop mentioning Sam.Sam this,Sam that.Sam is dead to me the day he walked out the door.Slav is boss now, thats all that matters! 😉
No interest in hippos opinion. He aint anything to do with us anymore.Go find a new club so you can start rattling on about them!
I thought we were never going to say his name again we dont give a toss for his opinion
Totally uninterested in the Ex-Managers view on this matter.Send this article to wetpants, most of them still love him for the amazing things he did for the club in their Sammy loving eyes.
Dear Hugh
I appreciate you are a journalist but can’t you take an executive decision to just not publish anything remotely Allardyce. It’s all negative, the club has moved on and so have the fans.mentioning him just brings up negativity.
I’m so glad we have his blessing. Not sure how we could have gone on without it…
