Allardyce denies Gomis interest

exeter-bafe58-1813472_478x359Sam Allardyce told his Thursday morning press conference the club will reassess its squad and aims in the summer

And he declared that and that his four strikers are sufficient for the remainder of the season.

He was being questioned on reports on the club being interested in Danny Ings and Bafétimbi Gomis saying: “With us having Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho, Carlton Cole and Enner Valencia we have more than enough front men to cope with the demand for the rest of the season.

Asked directly whether there was any truth in the Gomis rumour he gave a one word “no” answer.

He claimed there was still a possibility of Darren Fletcher arriving adding: “It is still a possibility. It’s not dead yet, so it still could happen.”

“You have to patient sometimes. We’re not desperate, as we’ve got several good options in midfield but we want to add to that if we can.”

He also revealed that Alex Song, James Tomkins and Carl Jenkinson had been under treatment and that he was waiting on James Collins so hopefully they’ll be fit for Saturday but we’re going to have to wait patiently. Everyone else is OK.”
