CANDH EXCLUSIVE

Sam Allardyce has stunned Irons insiders by handing the West Ham squad a couple of days off following the crushing defeat by Everton on Saturday.

He broke the news to his players after the late 2-1 defeat which had the fans rushing for the exits rather than celebrating on the pitch and ClaretandHugh understands they won’t be back in training until Wednesday in preparation for the last day game at Newcastle.

It’s a surprising reaction to yet another defeat as the team heads forthe north east and received a mixed response from insiders

One told us: “How on earth can you reward them for failure? I’d have thought it was a case of extra training rather than time off. It’s odd at best and probably not what the fans want to hear at this stage of the proceedings!”

However, another – trying to put a positive spin on the news – declared: “Sam believes that if you reward players you will probably get a response, others see it the other way around.

“After all that approach didn’t work to well with the Dubai break did it? Thank goodness when this bizarre season comes to an end.”

Jabba in his customary position, looking like a bin bag full of sh*t.Why not give the team the whole week off makes no difference now 😉

Certain players looked proper devastated when late goal in. Or at least that’s how it looked to me. Adrian mainly. I don’t think this break is a bad idea. Bit of a harsh reaction towards Sam. I believe it’s time for change, but I get the feeling people are just looking for reasons to hate. The season ends next weekend and we’ll likely get the manager change we’re after. So why keep hammering (pun not intended) Sam, the team and owners with complaints? Sorry, just my own view.

    • essexclarets says:

You don’t have to look very far for reasons to hate sam. How any one can still stick up for him is beyond me.

      • ChelmoHammer says:

Oh yes, he is egotistical and need to keeep his mouth shut from time to time as well as his style of play being very frustrating, but still got us promoted first time of asking. I just see it as a ‘thanks for the memories but we need someone new’ kinda things.

    • Chickenrunner says:

Whos hammered the players or board? The guy is a self promoting tool.He rightly deserves to be riducled,if he kept his trap shut he wouldnt be.People aint fooled by the towrag.A little harmless fun isnt going to destroy his ego or bank balance for sure.Just my opinion 😉

  • Quickdraw says:

As far as I can make out his only use is as a new Chinese astrology model. There’ll be the year of the Hippo,Panda,Whale,Pig,Toad,Sloth,Dinosaur and now Toad.
As long as we don’t have another year of the genius I’ll be happy

  • mattefumi keeps the faith says:

ahahha… You are right ammeral, Jabba the Fat needs a couple of days to clean out his office… cakes, sandwiches, chips, pizza, etc. Unfortunately he has to do everything himself… according to The Telegraph, Sam sacked his maid: he accused her of stealing his trophies from his cabinet… This morning he woke up and he found it empty… lol

    BFS PACK YOUR BAGS

  • Michael Miller says:

They’ve been on holiday since Christmas – so nothing new there then!

  • Chickenrunner says:

This one isnt insulting, unless you are thinned skinned like some.Just amusing

  • bubs says:

Does that mean a refund on wages as they are on a 4 day week ,
    They also had Saturday off,
They could use that money to pay the fans back for the last away game ?
If any fan travels on Saturday they are mad,
This is taking the mickey out of every fan who cares and if the board sanctioned these days off SHAME ON YOU do not keep disrespecting the fans

  • Stuck On 99 Forever! says:

Lol,nice one,but no Sam we are not entertained im afraid 😉

  • Tony gore says:

If there not really playing for him?? I wonder.

  • PlaistowKid says:

Is this like the break the players had prior to our game against Arsenal to rejuvenate the batteries and give us a good chance? Dubai, nice if you can get it, unless it was Sam trying to buy the players? The refreshing break had no influence on us losing to the Gunners of course.
This tactical genius after all realises he must get a win to stand any chance of being retained. Sam have 5 days off, because (and I quote) This has been a good season for ME! Forget the club, supporters or owners who have had a **** season! His arrogant, not my fault, everyone else’s fault, decisions going against us attitude stinks.
I have supported the club for 63 years and wept with joy when we lost to Everton and landed in 11th place. Does this passion stand for nought?
Why does all the pundits suck his dick? Why do our owners support him? He lasted a fortnight at Newcastle and other managers have fared no better (think Man Utd + Moyes) yet golden balls seems to have something to hang on! Isn’t as if he was a cheap manager either.
