Allardyce looks for big ‘late window’ signing

S ALLARD

SAM Allardyce reckons he will have to wait until the last days of the transfer window for his big signing.

He admits he is deeply frustrated by events so far claiming that itself represents an a serious understatement.

He said: “We’ve tried to do so many in the  last six to eight weeks and it just hasn’t happened.

‘Our need is to produce a really good signing that can hit the ground running and have an impact right away.’

But he believes he may have to show considerable patience as the days count down to the window closing.

‘There are very few deals happening across the board at the moment because it’s difficult to get the right players at this time,’ he added.

‘Later in this window things generally get a bit easier in financial terms, in that clubs want to move the players on.

‘That’s why you get a flood of deals in the last few days of the window.’
