Allardyce opens talks with Sunderland

SamASunderland will open talks with Sam Allardyce on Friday regarding their managerial vacancy, according to Sky Sports. Allardyce, who left the Hammers at the end of last season, is a massive bookies odds on favourite to take over from Dick Advocaat, who stepped down after Saturday’s 2-2 draw with West Ham.

Allardyce has been on holiday in Spain but following his return chairman Ellis Short will now look to persuade him to resume his career on Wearside.

Allardyce played 25 games for Sunderland between 1980-1981, if he is installed as manager he will be back at the Boleyn Ground next year on Saturday 27th February when West Ham take on the Mackems again.
