Allardyce to rely on Cole!

coleSam Allardyce has declared he expects Carlton Cole to finish the season on a high!

With Diafra Sakho possibly missing until the end of the campaign it seems that Cole is bang in the frame for a run of games.
The Senegal striker is believed to have torn a thigh muscle meaning that Cole will almost certainly get the nod for Manchester city (away) this weekend and beyond.
Enner Valencia is likely to partner Cole in attack at at the weekend with Allardyce saying: “Sakho has a thigh problem. He’ll be out until maybe the end of the season.
“Hopefully it will be 3-4 weeks but you never know. Even if he’s 95% fit, we wouldn’t risk him. Only if he was 100%.“With Sahko out, we are a little short in the goal-scoring department.

“So, I am expecting Carlton to play a big role for us in the next few games and he can deliver for us against Man City.”

  1. A lot of top clubs play with a lone striker (Chelsea for example). But they don’t use long balls to serve him… The sophisitcated manager could use Valencia and 5 midfielders (Song, Amalfitano, Noble, Dowining and Kouyate) and change his playing system. But he is not able, he’s limited.

  2. my god we are doomed no offense to cole kinda like the lad,but when u have Nene on the bench why are u relying on Cole, ofc we know why 4-5-1 we are def gonna help man city get over last weekend 😛

  3. Yeah he seems a proper decent guy,but when you have him as our big hope up front for the rest of or majority of the season till the close you just know you are screwed.Guess Amalifitano & Nene might make guest appearance with about 10mins to go.Pffff, were doomed, lol 😉

  4. Or Nene together with Valencia…. Sorry I forgot he exists…

  5. Is Carlton the new Kevin Nolan????

  6. no Carlton is the new Carlton 😀

  7. No Nolan unique and unrepeatable

    BFS GENIUS

  8. Oh gawd!

  9. I heard in his press conference snippets on the radio that he said that if Carrol & Sakho were fit they would be his starting strikers.Nice for Valencia to be given such a big pat on the back & confidence booster pre match, ffs.Honestly,Sam is a total t*thead, end of story!

  10. i said it then and i say it again fat sam will ruin any confidence a player has before joining the club, sack him now otherwise we will slip down that table.

  11. I totally agree Stew, totally agree. What a poor dinosaur…

  12. He has broken cover to tell us something we all knew would happen,
Poor old Nene came here got paid to train play the odd ten mins and leave before we knew if he was any good for next year,
So it’s Cole and Nolan, with Downing and Jarvis or Alfitano on the wings,
And 6 sitting back waiting for the onslaught and Adrien getting shell shock,
Can’t wait to read his column in the evening paper,
    CANT BE BOTHERED OUT

  13. After the way Cole played against Stoke, 8 headers ALL MISSED, ten tackles ALL MISSED, positional play ALL OVER THE PLACE, pace, NON- EXISTENT.

MY GOD WHAT A DISASTER, HE IS UTTERLY USELESS.

Man City will definitely get all their confidence back on Sunday, I dread to think about the score.
    Sam out NOW !!!!!!!

  14. Oldiron one of us! Well said 😉

  15. west ham have always been the team u play when ur on a bad run of form, we are like football therapy for the useless 😀

  16. Perhaps the tactical genius could revert to the false no 9- he got away with it once thanks in large part to Ravel (who?). We also had a guy called Zarate earlier this year who could score goals (palace away ) and we now have Nene who looks interesting but BFS doesn’t fancy him (not his signings probably). Will probably play Nolan though who has one goal all season.

  17. Hold on, didn’t he play Sakho when he was about 70% twice this year and Carroll who was about 60%? I bet 20% Nolan plays

  18. Demachalis & Kompany must be quaking in there boots already having sleepless nights how to combat Carlton. Fat Sam you are the weakest link goodbye

  19. This man gives us so much confidence,I feel sorry for Cole a month ago he was heading to new pastures and probably a mother guarantee of income for 2 more years and Hippo head steps in and ruins it for him,now he needs him so badly,
What goes around comes around BFS no Zarate,no Rav, no Carroll to save your bacon
It’s down to your boy does loyalty pay ?
Can Nolan make it 2 goals this year, can we defend for 90 mins, how many will travel to watch it it’s like a bad mills and bloom
    BFS FOR MANCESTER NIGHTMARE

  20. Why did we ever bother getting Nene??? Despite not being match fit when he arrived and despite only being given infrequent end of the match opportunities to show his worth each time Nene has come on for us he’s looked dangerous, caused problems, laid off some good balls had a couple of shots and hit the bar! What more does he have to do to warrant the chance to start a game. Yet here we are about to give Carlton Cole another start which is going to produce one thing……more of the same! Ffs can’t we give someone a chance who hasn’t already shown what they are capable of ! Please change the record its beginning to sound like the Smiths and for me they sounded pretty suicidal!

  21. Nene never stood a chance from day one.BFS didnt want him,Sullivan signed him.Zarate here we go all over again.Instead we are left with poor ol’ Carlton to run his legs off achieving nothing probably, bless him.We are now reliant on a guy Sam let go,then resigned, allowed to almost move, then called back at the last minute.Cole had a wee dig the other day.He said when he was stopped from signing for WBA it was because Sam said he needed him.Cole then said well he clearly didnt need me because i have played about 120mins of football in 2 months.Enough said.
