Allardyce: “You are a great bunch of fans”

CarrollallardyceRelaxed Sam Allardyce – arm draped around BT Sport pundit David Ginola’s shoulder – congratulated the Hammers fans after a fabulous third victory over Spurs.

The Boleyn boss shrugged off his dreadful last few weeks at the hands of the supporters to declare: “They are a great bunch. If they don’t like what they are seeing they let you know.”

The Hammers gave one of their best performances of the season and totally demolished Tim Sherwood’s outfit after Kaboul had been sent off midway through the first half.

And Allardyce declared: “I thought we were the better team before that happened and I expected the performance.

“We have finished off the season in style and my only frustration was that we couldn’t kill it off with a third given the pressure we applied in the second half.”

Andy Carroll – who had an outstanding game – thanked Allardyce for his man management and support throughout the season.

He said: “He’s a great manager. He has trusted me during my recovery and supported me throughout.

“His man management of me has been top class as I have battled back towards top fitness and I feel I’m there now.”
