West Ham have reportedly held a meeting regarding Julen Lopetegui’s future, with Max Allegri emerging as a potential replacement, according to talkSPORT.

The credibility of this rumour remains sketchy, as the same report also mentioned David Moyes in passing.

Allegri, touted as a leading candidate, has been out of work since his dramatic departure from Juventus. The 57-year-old was sacked just two days after guiding the team to victory over Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final.

The fiery Italian manager was shown a red card during the match for an explosive touchline outburst, where he ripped off his jacket and sarcastically clapped in the referee’s face—actions that led to his immediate dismissal.

TalkSPORT now claims that Allegri has held talks with West Ham but would only consider taking the role at the end of the season. This has allegedly prompted the Hammers to consider appointing a caretaker manager, with the report suggesting the surprising possibility of David Moyes stepping in for a six-month stint at the London Stadium.

While the Moyes link might make the story sound far-fetched, it’s plausible that talkSPORT may have conflated two separate pieces of speculation. Allegri, meanwhile, is also thought to be on the radar of Serie A side Roma.

If he does come to London though, he might regret ripping up that jacket.

Please god not Moyes, we still haven’t got over the damage he did to our club.

its such a bloody circus , how can we agree on this when we still have this plonker in charge, for christ sake sully, grow a pair, and ditch him, most of us would rather see kevin keen in charge til the end of the season whilst we wait.

FFS, please not Moyes!! We were fu….d with what he left. We are still fu….d with all the so called top players they bought. Imagine what he would do with them!! Relegation looks a definite now!

This scheme , Moyes as caretaker then another old guy Allegri seems idiotic , chaotic and farcical at the same time , however this is Worstham with head clown Sullivan’s incomprehensible thought process and so watch this space with trepidation .

This type of appointment never works for us. See Pellegrini and Lopetegui as examples. Steer clear of the unemployed, past their prime CV managers.

The type who thinks they’re doing you a favour. Get someone young and hungry that’s impressing somewhere else instead.

Better off giving it to Mark noble till end of season. He will be well respected by the players. And play the west ham way

I can’t see it. I can’t see his wage demands being met before it even gets to the complication of an interim manager. Why would anyone want to be an interim manager ? A few months work to did us out of the …. then on your bike.

  • Kenny Irons says:

lol what would be the point of getting Moyes in until end of season ? Reason we got rid was because of atrocious football, losing matches and conceding goals like confetti, for which theme has continued. I can see another disaster looming to be honest, don’t trust anyone at the moment….

  • Chris W says:

Oh God ….not the Moysiah to make another Lazarus-like comeback! 🙏

  • Mick Bering says:

I dont know if imn going barny or the club is getting Allegri is fine but not untill the end of the season is plain stupid What happens if an interim manager comes in for 6 months and is succesfull taken us into top 6 Would we get rid whitch would be even a worse case scenario
