Alvaraz wants fresh Hammers mentality

|

Edson Alvaraz talks like a player who has been around the Hammers for a long time and is determined to change the squad mentality.

It’s been refreshing reading his various interviews and in one notable quote he spoke of how the team need to put more pressure on the ball.

That was good to hear and now he has been discussing the way the team needs to think about things and how the players should adapt mentally to their position within the top four.

Not many knew a great deal about him ahead of his move to the club but since arriving it has become clear that he is an extraordinarily good replacement for one time Hammers golden boy Declan Rice.

And he believes with James Ward-Prowse alongside himself he has joined a team more than capable of fighting for the top spots in the Premier League.

He gave his views to Sky Sports declaring: “With James [Ward-Prowse], we communicate really well. “We are both new here and we want to bring a fresh mentality to the club.

“My new team-mates are all good guys. They have helped me with everything from the first day I arrived at the club.

“I’m very happy with everyone and looking forward to creating the best team we can for West Ham. At the end, we all want to fight for our fans and also the top spots in the Premier League.”
