Ancelotti shares team news ahead of Hammers clash

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that James Rodriguez will remain sidelined for the New Year’s Day Premier League clash with West Ham.

Rodriguez has not played since the 1-1 draw at Burnley on 5th December but Ancelotti expects the Colombian playmaker to be back for the FA Cup third round tie against Rotherham United on 9 January.

Ancelotti also revealed Lucas Digne is going through individual training sessions as he recovers from ankle ligament surgery. The left-back is expected to rejoin the First-Team squad by mid-January.

In his pre-match press conference, the Blues boss said: “Richarlison will be okay [for West Ham] and James is unavailable. For James we have to look day by day. Unfortunately, he is not ready yet and I hope he will be ready for our next game on 9 January.

Allan is doing individual treatment. I think he will be ready around the end of January. We have good news from Lucas Digne in that he has started individual sessions and, maybe in one week to 10 days, he will be able to train with the team.”
