Anderson ours but with helping hand from Chelsea star

|

Felipe Anderson grabbed his first goal in claret and blue and then revealed how Chelsea’s Wilian had persuaded him to swap Serie A for the Premier League.

And he’s very glad to be here making it clear the £35 million record fee down’t faze him in the least as he prepares for life at West Ham.

Commenting in more depth on the switch from Lazio than previously, he said: “I’m ready for the challenges. I can accept what being the record signing means to West Ham fans and the opposition but it excites me.

“In Italy it was more about the technical side of the game. Here I understand it is tougher but I spoke to my great friend Willian and he urged me to come here and experience what the Premier League has to offer.

One of his earliest inspirations was Brazilian legend Kaka and added he had tried to model his game on the Brazilian play maker adding: “It was about his technical ability and improvisation.

“Now I like to watch Neymar because of the way he dribbles and how he just attacks opponents.

“The pressure of the fee does not bother me. It’s a big responsibility because it shows the club believes in me.”
