Hammers keeper Łukasz Fabianski was the only West Ham player to score over seven in the Claret and Hugh West Ham player ratings this weekend.  With several hundred readers voting the stopper scored an average of 7.22 despite conceding two goals during the 2-0 away loss against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Defender Pablo Zabaleta was top of the sixes with an average score of 6.88 followed by Issa Diop 6.68, Declan Rice 6.57, Aaron Cresswell 6.35 and Angelo Ogbonna on 6.28 to complete the six scores.

West Ham striker Andy Carroll was rated the biggest flop of the weekend after his awful miss in front of goal as readers gave him an average score of 3.49! This morning the Sun Newspaper has linked the 30-year-old striker to a £2m move to Spurs.

  1. Andy Carroll to Spurs? Spurs!!?? Spurs!!?? Do people actually still pay money to get The Sun?

  2. Am I dreaming? Is it April 1st?

  3. Andy Carroll is not playing like he’s just coming back from injury, he’s playing like he’s still injured. However he seems to be getting all the blame for the Bournemouth loss. He is the number one scapegoat for missing a sitter. However we would be talking about an assist for Carroll if Antonio hadn’t missed the first sitter. The ball bounced off Antonio and came at Carroll unexpectedly. The goal keeper was laying on the line so he had to kick it up and over the goalkeeper. All I’m saying is, it wasn’t the simple tap in that a lot of people seem to be making out to be.

  4. Carroll does not fit in with the system looks lost , as for Saturday it’s simple no intensity that loss was about work rate .

  5. Look at the picture above Clive and tell me a professional goal scorer on 80 grand+ pw has every right to miss that. I am not a Carroll knocker and feel sorry that he has been deprived of his best years through cruel injuries. I am, however, realistic and don’t see the world through Andy tinted glasses.

  6. It was a bad miss but when you look at the keeper he had to lift it so I think some of the comments are harsh. The reason he is playing is because of Arnie, Carroll has never been mobile we should just take him for what he is, a physical centre forward that can panic central defenders, he is a one goal every 4 games player.

  7. Exactly. When you look st the picture the keeper is blocking the bottom half of the goal with his body and is literally right in front of Carroll. The ball also comes to him unexpectedly because he’s just headed it down to Antonio so is off balance and not expecting the ball to bounce back to him. He was probably expecting Antonio to put it in the back of the net.
