Andy Carroll not ready for 90 minutes

David Moyes has admitted that Andy Carroll will struggle to last 90 minutes as he fights for match fitness.

Talking to reporters about team news Moyes said: “We have got a few back, Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini back. James Collins isn’t ready yet so probably we have got what we have at this moment in time. Pedro Obiang has made good progress and he could be back by the end of the season.”

However, on Andy Carroll, he said: “(It’s) Good to get Carroll back, yes. He gives us an option. We are still trying to get him to maximum fitness, with four weeks left in the season its not easy but will he be ready for 90 minutes? Probably not.”

Asked whether having the option of Carroll on the bench Moyes added: ‘It’s something I have not had since I’ve been here. It was good the other night to have it and it got us a very important point, Chicharito the week before at Chelsea came off the bench and scored as well so when you have got the players to change the game, it makes a difference.”
