Happy Andy ready for the Toon

ACBig Andy Carroll is back and feeling very good indeed!

The club’s record signing arrived to rapturous applause from the away terraces at Cardiff on Saturday, set up skipper Mark Noble’s clincher and gave huge encouragement for the immediate future.

And afterwards the £16 million man – speaking to West Ham TV had this to say:

“It felt very good to be back on the pitch. I’m buzzing to be back, it’s a great feeling to be back after being out for so long.

“It was disappointing to go down to ten men. Tonks made a decision to clear the ball and caught him [Fraizer Campbell], but the lads held on well and it was great to get another goal as well to make it 2-0.

” I was a bit rusty, but I was happy to set up the goal at the end and I’ll try to forget about the rusty bits!”

The Hammers take on Newcastle United at the Boleyn Ground next week and the No9 cannot wait to take on his hometown club.

He added: “It’s going to be great to play Newcastle next week. I’ll have a lot of family coming down and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch after having 20 minutes today.”
