Fiorentina are working on a deal to sign West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang, per Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Equatorial Guinea star began his professional career in Serie A, with Sampdoria, and Fiorentina are now keen to bring him back to Italy.
Obiang endured a difficult 2017-18 due to injury but has played 13 times in the Premier League this season, most recently completing 63 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Brighton, while he also played the full 90 in the 2-0 FA Cup victory over Birmingham.
This is not the first time Fiorentina have been linked with a move for Obiang, who was linked with a return to Serie A in the 2018 January transfer window.
Sampdoria then attempted to extricate Obiang from the Hammers in the summer, reportedly tabling a bid worth £8 million.
It remains to be seen, however, if Manuel Pellegrini will be the irons manager to sanction his exit, with Fiorentina apparently working hard to put a deal together for the star.
