In addition to his critics at London Stadium, the international media are also slating one Hammer’s form at present. Having been an excellent servant for West Ham United for several seasons and part of our Europa Conference League winning side, nobody likes to see a Hammers favourite start to receive endless criticism.
It is coming from all sides just now for Vladimir Coufal who was part of the Czech team which went down to a 4-1 defeat against Georgia at the weekend. Having – seemingly – entered into a losing battle for his starting place at London Stadium to new recruit Aaron Wan-Bissaka (who was man of the match in his first start for the Irons against Manchester City), Coufal now gets it in the neck from the Czech media following his showing in the Tblisi defeat.
Czech media outlet iSport.cz are very critical of the 32 year-old Hammers’ right back who was played as a wing back for his national side:
“He is out of form, spoiled (‘beaten’) a lot, was easily bypassed by the excellent Kvaratskhelia.”
Later on the report claims: “But you expect a lot more from a Premier League player…”
Tough criticism for Coufal to take as he struggles to hold his place ahead of Wan-Bissaka. We know that he is combative and doesn’t give up without a fight. It could just be that this is the beginning of the end for Coufal who’s contract is up with West Ham at the end of the 24/5 season: The Czech Republic’s next game is at home in Prague to Ukraine tomorrow 10th September – hopefully Vlad will be selected and put in a better performance.
