Another untrue Irons signings rumour is doing the rounds today which needs knocking on the head before it gathers more momentum than it may have gained already. According to media site Football Transfers, Manchester United right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is “once again a target for fellow Premier League side West Ham.” The “is again a target ” means: “He was reported to be last summer “. …In fact, of course,  in fact there was really no interest whatsoever!

Had the story concerned a back-up to the excellent Emerson at left back, the tale would have been more believable but as it stands it is entirely inaccurate. In any event, as we have reported, there is very little money available for transfers anyway and should the cash somehow be found the club has prioritised the need for a striker. That was made clear by a top contact at the club to Claret and Hugh yesterday.

And today it was made clear that stories surrounding Wan-Bissaka were a little off the wall with another inside revealing: He has never been on our target list.
