Antonio covid update

|

Mikeyu Antonio is very much in the manager’s plans for this afternoon’s game against Southampton at the London Stadium.

The No 9 was forced to miss the game against Spurs as he self isolated following his wife Debbie testing positive.

Mikey therefore needs to pass two tests before he can take his place in the line up for this afternoon’s game and will have the second during the next few hours before kick off.

Vladi Coufal is back from suspension and looks certain to take his place on the right side of the back line. However, although Arthur Masuaku is set for inclusion in the squad, it will be a surprise if he is trusted at left back.

With Ben Johnson available it looks far more likely David Moyes will hand him the role in the continuing absence of the injured Aaron Cresswell.

With Said Benrahma and Manu Lanzini failing to make too big an impression in the last game Moyes has something of a midfield dilemma and Pablo Fornals could be set to start.
