Antonio fears update

Fears that Michail Antonio will miss this evening’s game against Southampton with a recurrence of his groin injury have been cleared up.

Speculation arose on social media over the last few days that he was holding his groin and appeared to have a problem before the end of the Arsenal game on Monday evening.

It was fared the groin injury which had seen him miss the Wolverhampton Wanderers defeat had resurfaced and that he would not be involved this evening.

However, a training ground source has explained that the  No 1 striker choice is set to be available for what has become a crucial match at St Mary’s.

But it means that Seb Haller is likely to be benched as a result again adding to the belief that he may feel he has been made the scapegoat for the team’s awful run of form.

There is a remote hope that Pellegrini may instead decide to go two up with the pair but that looks more than unlikely given his record.

  1. Haller is not a scapegoat, he’s just stopped running
