Antonio injury update

Michail Antonio is out for the rest of the season after coming off against Southampton yesterday.

We have learned that the player has suffered a bad hamstring tear and is now set to join Winston Reid and Sam Byram on the injury list until summer.

As we wrote earlier, the player was quickly taken out of the action after going down early in the first half to be replaced by the energetic and effective Edmilison Fernandes.

And this afternoon we have been told that Michail has become a victim of the injury crisis which has gripped the club for much of the season.

It’s another blow for David Moyes and the club as the team battle toward safety although there was good news from the Emirates this afternoon when Arsenal beat Stoke City to leave them six behinds the Hammers in second off bottom position.
