Classy Michail Antonio may not have been at his best last night but he remains as classy as ever in attitude and approach.

He demonstrated that immediately after the match at Edgeley Park when the Hammers grabbed their first win on the ground at the eighth attempt.

On a wicked night when the result could have gone either way, the former Tooting and Mitcham protegee was quick to laud the benefits and quality of non-league football.

The Hamers performed entirely professionally to gain their win but Mikey was keen to make sure that County took their share of the credit.

The National League team produced a superbly disciplined defensive performance until Craig Dawson broke their hearts with a late winner from Jarrod Bowen’s cross.

And although Michail was delighted to have made it into the fourth round he ensured he took time out to pay credit to the County lads.

He tweeted: “Without non-league football, I wouldn’t be where I am today and playing out there tonight reminded me that wherever you play, all centres around a love for the game. Respect to Stockport County  showed passion, fight and desire.”
